If the timing is right and the weather is good we can organize a fishing trip for you and your family on my husband's lobster boat. Kids love this and it's a great opportunity to take photos of the family, the nearby islands and the beautiful Nova Scotia coastline. |

There are all kinds of travel and cultural opportunities in this region. We suggest you page through this guide and plan one or more day trips to the area. Everything is really quite close by and the possibilities are endless. Personally, I love to hop from one antique shop to the other. There are many in the area. Cape Forchu Light is a must-see.

The Digby Ferry Posted: Aug 22, 2012 - 5:15pm By: vm
There is no ferry service to the US from Yarmouth, but there is a ferry from Digby, Nova Scotia to St. John, New Brunswick. This service is very popular with US visitors wanting to reduce their travel time to Nova Scotia. We all hope a service from Yarmouth will be restored soon.

Popular Birding Destinations Nearby Posted: Aug 22, 2012 - 4:11pm By: vm
Birding is a popular outdoor activity in Nova Scotia and some of the best birding destinations in the province are in Shelburne County. The beaches and shoreline around Round Bay and Red Head are a pleasant walk from our cottages. In the spring and summer Piping Plovers can be seen on the beaches; in the fall and late summer migratory sea and shorebirds gather here in large numbers.
